«We’re at an inflection point in history, for real — it comes along about every six or eight generations — where things are changing so rapidly that we have to be in control», said President Joe Biden; with all due respect to those who depict him as old, tired and not lucid. The one at Lockheed – that produces Javelin missiles – was a profound geo-historical speech: an Emperor’s speech.

We all have the perception of being at the fault of history: motions that were silent, distant and profound suddenly accelerate and overwhelm us. Faced with an overall reshuffling (geopolitical, technological, food, energy), Biden’s Washingtonian experience emerges as an anchor of the Empire.

All of it, during a clash with the Supreme Court over the famous draft, which indeed reflects a broader and deeper clash – Capitol Hill was a grotesque epiphenomenon – between the two visions of the Empire, while Elon Musk throws himself on Twitter but not for the sake of freedom of expression (sorry). So, yes, we are at a turning point.
